In the US, a 13-storey building facing the sea suddenly collapsed late on Friday night at the surfside of Miami city of Florida. So far 5 people have died in the accident, while more than 159 people have not been found yet. Three days later, the cause of the accident was revealed.
It is learned that in October 2018, engineers had warned of large cracks in the building, water seepage from the swimming pool and collapse of pillars, beams and walls of the parking garage. But the Resident Union did not pay heed to it.
At the same time, according to experts, exposure to wind, moisture and salt on the South Florida coast often causes damage to buildings. The problem would have been compounded by water seepage, causing a portion of the building to collapse.
