Road accident on NH-18: Truck hit the tanker standing on the road from behind, the driver including the helper changing the tire of the tanker died

 A tanker parked on the road on NH-18 near Kapagoda village of Ghatshila police station area was hit hard by a truck from behind. In the accident, the helper who was changing the tire of the tanker and the driver of the truck died. The incident happened late on Sunday night. The tanker was standing on the road due to a tire puncture. While the truck driver was on his way home. His house was just 500 meters away from the spot.

Here, on hearing the sound of the collision, the people of the hotel and dhaba on the roadside reached the spot and informed the police. Police reached the spot and sent both the bodies for postmortem.

The deceased truck driver was identified as Bhikhari Das (27). While the identity of the deceased tanker Khalasi could not be ascertained. He was changing the punctured tire of the tanker and during this time the incident happened. In the accident, the beggar Das was badly trapped in the cabin of the truck.
