In many villages of Barmer, earlier due to the heat, many youths used to remain unmarried. People did not give daughters on this side. In the village we are in now, there are only two bachelors aged 42 and 48. Now these are only two, but earlier eight to ten such people were found in every village of the district. Famous litterateur Nandkishore Acharya is at his residence in Bikaner.

It is said that now black and yellow storms do not come like before. Sometimes these storms lasted for 7-7 days. The khankh (dust storm) used to rise all the time. There was sand in the food. Now the heat is not the same as before. Even in May-June, the nights used to be so cold that we had to wear khasla early in the morning, but now the nights are hot.

Folk culturalist Deep Singh Bhati says that summer is very important. I ask 'why' then they answer-

If the heat does not last for the first two days of Nautapa, then the rats will become too much. If it does not work for the next two days, then Katra (the pest that damages the crop). If there is no heat for two days from the third day, then the locust eggs will not be destroyed. If there is no heat for two days from the fourth day, the bacteria that cause fever will not die. After this, if there is no heat for two days, then Vishwa ie snakes and scorpions will become uncontrollable. If it does not last even for the last two days, then there will be more storms. Crops will be destroyed.

Shab-e-Awadh and Suba-e-Banaras like Shab-e-Marwar: agnostic

Nandkishore Acharya recalling the coolness of the nights of Jodhpur, Jaisalmer and Bikaner says that famous litterateur Sachchidanand Hiranand Agyeya wrote a letter to him years ago - 'Sham-e-Awadh and Subah-e-Banaras are very famous.
