All three planes took off from France and reached India after covering a distance of about 8 thousand kilometers without stopping. These aircraft were refueled in the air by an Airbus 330 multi-role transport aircraft of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The Indian Air Force tweeted, 'Three Rafale aircraft have reached India without stopping from Isres Air Base in France. The Indian Air Force thanks the Air Force for providing mid-air assistance.'
59 thousand crore deal
The base of the new squadron of Rafale fighter jets will be at Hasimara airbase in West Bengal. The first squadron of Rafale is at Ambala Air Force Station. India had signed an agreement with France in 2016 to buy 36 Rafale fighter jets for Rs 59,000 crore. The remaining aircraft are expected to arrive by 2022.
Officials said that the first squadron will guard the western border and northern border with Pakistan. The second squadron will guard India's eastern border area.
The process of bringing is getting delayed due to Corona
Let us tell you that after increasing the cases of corona virus in India, the process of bringing Rafale planes has become a little longer. Because before leaving for France from India, Indian pilots have to undergo quarantine as well as many other precautions.
