Accident on Bokaro-Ramgarh NH-23: Driver had a nap, uncontrollable police van collided with pickup, 9 including 7 jawans injured

 

There was a direct collision between a police van and a pickup vehicle at around 5 am on Thursday morning in Dantu village of Kasmar police station area on Bokaro-Ramgarh main road NH-23. In this accident, 7 jawans and the driver of the pickup were injured in the police van. On receiving information about the incident, the police of Kasmar and Petarwar reached the spot and sent all the injured to BGH for treatment.

 The police van was going from Sahebganj to Ranchi for departmental work. Meanwhile, the driver of the van fell asleep near Dantu village. After this, the police vehicle went uncontrollably on the other side of the road and rammed into a pickup van coming from the opposite side.

Among the injured soldiers, Sanjay Kumar, Ajay Kumar, Raja Kumar, Under Inspector Anil Dubey, Mantu Paswan, Manoj Kumar Yadav, Virendra Kumar, Karan Dev Rajak along with the driver of the pickup van Dilip Kumar were injured. Among them is the driver of the police van. Doctors told that four jawans suffered more injuries, but all are out of danger.

Villagers reached after hearing the sound of collision

The collision was so strong that the nearby villagers reached the spot after hearing the sound. At the same time, all the injured were pulled out of the vehicle. Simultaneously, Kasmar informed the police. After that the police sent everyone to the hospital. At the same time, both the vehicles were taken from the spot to Kasmar police station. Police said that the police officials of Sahibganj district headquarters have been informed about the accident. The pickup was going from Ranchi to Bokaro. Its owner has also been informed.
