BSL will save 300 crores by spending 110 crores
AKB NEWS:- Bokaro: To remain competitive in the market, Bokaro Steel has taken a big decision. Now Bokaro Steel will transport iron ore in its railway wagons. For this, six rakes are being ordered from the Railways. The first rack reached Bokaro on Saturday. From here rakes were sent to bring iron ore from Kiriburu-Meghataburu. The first rake was flagged off by Amarendu Prakash, Director-in-Charge of BSL on Saturday. On this occasion, through the Executive Director, Chief General Manager and Traffic Department of BSL.
Rack bought for 110 crores:
BSL has entered into an agreement with Texmaco Rail & Engineering for six rakes (Box NHL) under GPWIS (General Purpose Wagon Investment Scheme) approved by Railways. The cost of this project of Bokaro Steel Plant, purchased by BSL under this agreement, is about Rs 110 crore. Now Bokaro Steel will get the benefit of both transportation and damage charges. According to estimates, if there is a profit of 20 crores annually in 15 years, then this amount will be three hundred crores.
These rakes will be operated on the route from Kiriburu-Meghataburu to Bokaro Steel Plant. Bokaro Steel Plant will also get 10 per cent rebate from the Railways for 15 years on the transportation of iron ore by its rake. Thus, BSL is expected to get a discount of around Rs 4 lakh per freight charge. In addition, due to delay in loading and unloading, railways will also save in payment as late fee.
The color coding of these wagons has been removed from the wagons of the Railways and will not be mixed with the wagons of the Railways. This facility will also solve the problem of non-availability of rakes and ensure timely transportation of raw material from the mines to the plant.
