New Railway Minister in action mode: Ashwini Vaishnav changed the working hours in the ministry, Focus on increasing railway earnings
Ashwini Vaishnav, the new Railway Minister of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's cabinet, was seen in action mode as soon as he took charge on Thursday. First of all, he changed the working time of officers and employees in the office. The Railway Minister has ordered the staff to work in two shifts.
The first shift will start at 7 am and end at 4 pm, while the second shift will start at 3 pm and will continue till 12 pm. Apart from this, 94-batch IAS officer Ashwini Vaishnav is also discussing taking several steps to increase the earnings of the Railways.
Order will not apply to private or railway staff
According to PR DJ Narayan, ADG of the Ministry of Railways, this order has been issued only for MR Cell (Ministerial Office) and not for private or railway staff. Narayan said, the Railway Minister has directed that all the employees of the minister's office will work in two shifts with immediate effect.
New IT Minister took charge with Railways
Ashwini Vaishnav, a Rajya Sabha member from Odisha, has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Electronics and IT along with the Railways. He has also held the charge of the Ministry of Communications. Vaishnav replaced Ravi Shankar Prasad in both the ministries. Prasad was handling the IT portfolio from 2016 apart from handling the communications department from 2019.
