Corona in the country: 24692 new infected were identified last day, 36862 were cured; New cases lowest in 153 days

 

Yesterday was a day of relief regarding Corona cases. On August 16, 24,692 cases of corona were registered, 36,862 people defeated the disease while 438 infected died. The number of new cases remained the lowest after 153 days. Earlier on March 15, 24,437 new cases had come. On Monday, a decline of 12,610 has also been registered in the number of active cases i.e. patients undergoing treatment. Now a total of 3.63 lakh patients are being treated.

Kerala recorded 12,294 cases on Monday. There have been so few cases here after 26 July. On July 26, the corona report of 11,568 people came here positive. In Maharashtra too, 4,145 new cases were registered on the previous day. This is the lowest after 3,663 cases were reported on February 16.

Partial lockdown in 23 states/UTs

There is a partial lockdown in 23 states and union territories of the country. There are exemptions along with restrictions here. These include Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Kerala, Bihar, Delhi, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Assam, Manipur, Tripura, Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat is included.

Major states

1. Kerala

On Monday, 12,294 people were found infected here. 18,542 people were cured and 142 people died. So far 37.02 lakh people have come under the grip of infection. Of these, 35.10 lakh people have been cured, while 18,743 people have died. Presently 1.72 lakh patients are undergoing treatment.

2. Maharashtra

On Monday, 4,145 people were found infected here. 5,811 people were cured and 100 people died. So far 63.96 lakh people have come under the grip of infection. Of these, 61.95 lakh people have been cured, while 1.35 lakh people have died. At present 62,452 patients are undergoing treatment.

3. Delhi

On Monday, 27 people were found corona positive in Delhi. During this 73 people were cured. So far 14.37 lakh people have come under the grip of infection. Of these, 14.11 lakh people have been cured, while 25,069 patients have died. 467 patients are being treated here.

4. Gujarat

On Monday, 14 people were found corona positive here. 13 patients recovered. So far, about 8.25 lakh people have come under the grip of infection. Of these, 8.14 lakh people have been cured, while 10,078 patients have died. Treatment of 184 infected is going on here.

5. Rajasthan

On Monday, 11 people were found corona infected here. During this 44 patients were cured. So far 9.53 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 9.44 lakh people have been cured, while 8,954 patients have died. At present 180 patients are undergoing treatment.

6. Uttar Pradesh

On Monday, 17 people were found infected here. During this, 36 people were cured, while 1 patient died. So far, more than 17.08 lakh people have been infected in the state. Of these, 16.85 lakh have been cured, while 22,785 patients have died. 419 patients are being treated here.

7. Madhya Pradesh

On Monday, 7 new cases were reported here and 16 patients were cured. 1 died. So far 7.92 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 7.81 lakh people have been cured, while 10,515 people died. 94 patients are currently undergoing treatment.
