AKB NEWS, Ranchi, Nov 2 (PTI) Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) on Tuesday said it has entered into an agreement with ISKCON in the fight against anemia and malnutrition in Jharkhand's Bokaro district. Under this agreement, BSL, a unit of Steel Authority, has entered into an agreement. of India Limited (SAIL) through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) one-time monetary assistance of Rs.68 lakh to International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) for setting up a base kitchen with relevant infrastructure at Chakulia village near Chas College will provide. and a vehicle for transportation of food to the beneficiaries.

 This type of project has been started for the first time in SAIL. "SAIL-Bokaro Steel Plant has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ISKCON to tackle the menace of anemia and malnutrition in Bokaro district," the company said in a statement. The MoA on behalf of BSL was signed by CRK Sudhanshu, DGM (CSR) and ISKCON Bokaro Head, Ispat Bhawan, Shri Jagannath Das in the presence of Executive Director (P&A) Sameer. s. Varun, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Pankaj Sharma, and other senior officers of BSL and representatives of ISKCON.

ISKCON is likely to complete the installation of base kitchen and related infrastructure within this financial year, the statement said, adding that initially 500 meals per day would be provided to the beneficiaries in anemia and malnutrition affected areas of Bokaro district through ISKCON. The statement said that while BSL will provide funds for this campaign against anemia and malnutrition, ISKCON will carry out daily tasks, kitchen work as well as distribution of food to the beneficiaries. Tackling anemia and malnutrition has been a major challenge and some parts of Bokaro district are also considered to be seriously affected.

BSL said that this initiative is expected to bring great relief to the affected people in the Bokaro district. and with ISKCON, campaigns against malnutrition.
