This is being done because vaccination is being considered as the biggest weapon against Corona. If we look at the worldwide trend, it is clear that in countries where more than 20% of the population has been vaccinated and vaccination is still going on, the next wave of infection did not come. America, Britain, Italy, France are examples of this.

According to the trend, the risk of third wave is low

Experts believe that India has crossed an important stage in terms of vaccination. Corona vaccine has been administered to 25.98 crore (20.95%) people of the country. Of these, 5.52 crore (4.45%) have received both the doses. Now 70% of the population needs at least one dose of the vaccine before the next wave of infection arrives. However, different epidemiologists in the country are saying that the third wave may arrive by October.

4 crore vaccines administered within 4 days in the country

So far more than 31 crore vaccines have been used in the country. In July, August and September, 65 crore more vaccines will be ready. That is, a total of 96 crore vaccines can be used before October.

About 85 crore people in the country are above 18 years of age. Therefore, it is possible that not all people 18+ before October are covered. But, a single dose is possible for 70% of the population. Vaccination has now gained momentum in India. In the last six days only 4 crore vaccines have been given, so much earlier in a month.

Understand why vaccination is necessary from the trends of 4 countries

1. America: Every 3 months there was a wave of infection. Now it has been 5 months after 20% of the population got a single dose. There was no wave after that.

2. Britain: There has been a wave of infection every 3 months. New cases started falling after 20% of vaccinations. Then 65 thousand cases were coming, now 10 thousand cases are coming.

3. Italy: 2nd wave 3 months, 3rd wave 4 months later. It is 3 months after 20% vaccination. Cases are decreasing. The country can be mask free from next month.

4. France: Every 3 months there was a wave of infection. 20% vaccination was completed in February, followed by 4 months, the new wave has not yet knocked.

Still need to be careful

The results of 4 countries are positive, but the trend of Brazil has worried the world. Here, even after the first dose of 30% of the population, the fourth wave remains intact. Experts are saying that the wave of infection was already going on in Brazil, so the effect of vaccination was not yet visible.

The second reason is also that there is a Chinese vaccine, which did not prove to be effective. Nevertheless, experts predict that by the middle of July, cases will start falling there too.

20% of the population took at least one dose, what does it mean?

There is up to 50% protection against infection for at least three months after a single dose. Even if there is an infection, there is less chance of going to the hospital. Therefore, vaccines can prevent the spread of infection as well as save lives of those who have been infected.

How effective is a single dose of vaccine in preventing infection?

50% effective on the Delta variant. No studies have been completed on the Delta Plus variant yet, so comment is difficult to comment on. Apart from this, to avoid all the strains and variants in India, both the doses of the three vaccines in the country are more than 80% effective.

If there is an infection after one dose, how likely is the patient to go to the hospital?

The probability drops to around 70%. Not only this, the risk of life after getting infected for people with serious illness also decreases to a great extent. Therefore, the vaccine is capable of saving lives.
