Jharkhand had the least number of vaccines as compared to neighboring states on Saturday, the sixth day of the Vaccine Campaign. In Jharkhand, 2.47 crore people have to get the vaccine. The state got 65 lakh vaccines in 6 months. Of these, 10 lakh people have got double doses. That is, vaccination of 2.37 crore people is left. Vaccination is complete only when both doses are taken. Jharkhand will need 4.74 crore doses for the vaccination of 2.37 crore people. Of these, 55 lakh people have taken a single dose.

That is, now Jharkhand needs 4.19 crore doses. The Center has said that Jharkhand will get 33 lakh vaccines in July. In this sense, it will take about 13 months to get 4.19 crore doses. At the same time, 60% vaccination is necessary for herd immunity. For this 1.48 crore people will have to apply both the doses. According to the availability of 33 lakh vaccines in July itself, it will take about 5 months to build herd immunity. The speed of vaccination can increase with the availability of vaccines. If the center doubles the vaccine to 66 lakhs after July, then the vaccination will be completed in 6 months.

What is herd immunity - 60% vaccine will stop the infection from growing as soon as it is done

If the disease spreads to a large population, then people's collective immunity (herd immunity) helps to prevent the spread of infection of that disease. According to experts, herd immunity against Kovid-19 develops after the vaccination of about 60% of the population and the production of antibodies.

Trouble...3.96 lakh vaccines in stock

The state government is preparing to give vaccine to 2.50 lakh people daily, but the stock of vaccine is the biggest problem. On June 25, only 3.96 lakh vaccines were left in the stock. According to the average speed at which vaccination is being done in Jharkhand, this is a quota of only four days. In such a situation, it is difficult to achieve the target of Rs 2.50 lakh. By the way, the state is yet to get 2.01 lakh vaccines this month and 33 lakh vaccines next month. Of these, 25% will be available in private hospitals.

The central government is neglecting the people of Jharkhand. Not enough vaccines are being provided as needed. Our health workers are constantly working to make this campaign a success, but we are not able to accelerate it even if we want to. We will increase the pace as soon as we get enough vaccines from the Centre.
