Two children died on Tuesday due to drowning in a dobha built under MNREGA in village Chando under Petarwar block of Bokaro district. Both were brothers and sisters. During the search for children missing from the house for a long time, when people reached Dobha, they saw slippers. After this some youths landed in Dobha and they found the bodies of both the children. These were the only two children of the parents of the deceased.

The deceased were identified as Shivani Kumari (7) and Jigar Kumar Nayak (5), daughter of Rajkumar Nayak, residents of Chando. The children had gone out to play in the afternoon. When he did not reach home till 5 pm, people started searching. During this time when people reached near Dobha built behind the house, they saw the slippers of the children. On suspicion, some youths landed in Dobha, they found both the children. After this, both the children were brought to the Jainmod Referral Hospital by the relatives. Where the doctors declared the children dead. This has caused a wave of mourning in the entire Chando village.

Mukhiya Rajendra Kumar Nayak told that Dobha was built 3 years ago next to Shiv Mandir, Chando. The beneficiary Chandra Shekhar Bhagat is also doing fish farming by cutting the soil on Dobha and increasing its size. The chief said that the children's father, Rajkumar Nayak, had reached the upgraded plus two high school Chando on Tuesday during the reorganization of the school management committee. He was elected a member of the committee.

Here, Petarwar BDO Shailendra Chaurasia said that Dobha has been built long ago. If any kind of incident happens during the construction of Dobha, then there is a provision to give some compensation from the government level under MNREGA. But after construction, there is a casualty due to the dobha made under MNREGA and if there is a provision from the government level, then he will be compensated in any case.
