Two youths ran away with Rs 6.70 lakh: went to the Andhra Bank to deposit money from the post office, both the accused escaped from the bike after the incident
In Dumka on Tuesday, two youths riding bikes in broad daylight escaped by snatching Rs 6.70 lakh by opening the gate of the vehicle in front of the old lady Renuka Singh who came from Scorpio to deposit money in Andhra Bank in Babupara locality. The old lady's grandson Abhishek Singh followed the bike riders along with the driver till Rasikpur but they managed to escape. The police alerted all the police stations falling in the direction of escape. But nowhere to be found. Abhishek has lodged a case of snatching in the city police station.
Abhishek, the grandson of a retired engineer, told that in the afternoon he had gone to the post office with his grandmother. Dadi withdrew Rs 6.70 lakh. Put all the money in her purse and went to Andhra Bank to deposit it. But lunch hour was going on in the bank. Because of this, grandmother was waiting in the car with money and I went to the bank. In the meantime, the criminals riding bikes came and after opening the gate of the car, snatched the bag full of money from their hands and fled. After this, grandmother's noise was heard. When she came out, the grandmother told that two bike-borne youths came from the side of the teen market and fled away after snatching the money. After this chased the car till Rasikpur but both of them escaped after increasing the speed of the bike.
Police engaged in investigation on the basis of mobile location kept in purse
About half an hour after receiving the information about the snatching, the police of the city police reached the spot and investigated. The woman told the police that her mobile was also in her purse. When the police took the help of technology, it was found that the assailants were running towards Nonihat. The assailants did not know that there was a mobile in the purse. After the ring came to Nonihat, he came to know about the mobile in the purse and immediately switched it off. After that no location of the assailants could be found. Although the police alerted Hansdiha and Banka police but nothing was found.
