Promotion: 31 officers of Jharkhand Administrative Service will soon become IAS, 17 for the year 2019 and 14 for 2020

 

31 officers of Jharkhand Administrative Service will soon become IAS. The proposal related to this has been sent by the state government to the Union Ministry of Personnel and Training. As soon as the approval is received from there, the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms will start the promotion process of these officers. Of the 31 officers of the State Administrative Service who are to be promoted, there are 17 vacancies for the year 2019 and 14 for 2020.

After getting consent from the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), the state government will send the names of officers three times more than the vacant posts to the Centre. These names will be considered by UPSC and the names recommended will be promoted by DoPT after taking a final decision.

 It is noteworthy that this year, against the total 15 vacancies of 2017 and 2018, only 10 officers of the State Administrative Service could get promotion in the IAS. There were also two officers who got promotion in IAS after retirement. There were also two officers, against whom promotion could not be given due to registration of case.
