Case filed against 3 general managers of CCL in Bokaro, accused of transporting coal without challan


On Friday, District Mining Officer (DMO) Gopal Kumar Das took major action regarding coal transportation in Bokaro, Jharkhand without transport challan. Cases have been registered against many officials including 3 general managers of CCL. This action was taken on them under the Jharkhand Minerals (Prevention of illegal mining transportation and storage) Rule-2017.


The DMO said that coal was transported from Tarmi, Dhori, Karo Kargali Washery railway siding, Jarangdih PF One and PF Two railway sidings to various places through railways without online transport challan.


Despatch of coal without a transport challan is a violation of Rule 09 of The Jharkhand Minerals (Prevention of Illegal Mining Transportation and Storage) Rules, 2017. On the same basis, CCL General Manager Dhori Area MK Agarwal, General Manager B&K MK Rao, General Manager Kathra Area MK Punjabi, Project Officer Virendra Singh, Arvind Kumar Sharma, Regional Sales Officer Vinod Kumar in the crime of transporting coal without transport challan and hiding revenue.

 Jha (Dhori Area), Project Officer Tapan Kumar Rai, Dilip Kumar and Regional Sales Officer KL Yadav (B&K Area), Project Officer Sanjeev Kumar and Regional Sales Officer Anurag Pushp (Kathra Area) and all other persons under section of MMDR Act- 1957 An FIR has been lodged at Bermo police station and BTPS police station along with section 379, 420 of IPC and other relevant sections of Rule 21 of The Jharkhand Minerals (Prevention of Illegal Mining Transportation and Storage) Rule 2017.
