Bokaro: There is lack of sports facilities and resources in government high and plus two level schools of Bokaro district. To connect the students with sports, physical teachers have been appointed in about 22 government schools, but

In the absence of better facilities and resources, a better environment for sports could not be created here. The interesting thing is that an additional building is being constructed in the sports ground of Government High School, Lakkhand, Sector 2A of Bokaro Ispat Nagar. So now there is no playground available for children. A physical education teacher has been appointed in this school to impart sports training to the students, but due to non-availability of playground, question has been raised on the appropriateness of physical education teacher.

There are no facilities for indoor sports other than basketball and volleyball courts.

104 Government High Schools, 21 Plus Two Schools and eight Kasturba Gandhi Girls Residential Schools are being run in the district. Physical education teachers are appointed in 22 government schools, but most of the schools have playgrounds but better facilities and resources for sports are not available here. Most schools have goalposts for football games, but neither a basketball court nor a volleyball court. The facilities and resources for badminton, gymnastics, judo, kabaddi, karate, taekwondo and other indoor sports are not provided in these schools.
