US Secretary of State to visit India: Antony Blinken to visit India on July 27; Human rights on the agenda and the Pegasus espionage case
Dean Thompson, Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs, said on Friday that I can say with certainty that we will definitely take up these matters. And we will continue this discussion. The US is particularly concerned about the government's role in the Pegasus espionage case. It is a case of spying on citizens, critics of power and journalists through technology that does not come under the purview of the law.
Blinken's first visit to India
This will be Blinken's first visit to India after becoming the US Secretary of State. At the same time, this will be the second visit by a high official of the Biden administration after coming to power in July. According to sources, Blinken's visit will further strengthen mutual cooperation between the two countries in many areas such as trade, investment, healthcare, education, digital domain, innovation and security.
Talk Quad Initiative
Both the ministers will also discuss the Quad Initiative related to the manufacture of the Corona Vaccine. There can also be talk of holding a meeting of foreign ministers of the countries included in the Quad by the end of this year. Both countries will take this initiative forward so that the vaccine made in India can be supplied in the Indo-Pacific region from early next year.
