A young man died due to drowning in a pond in Kathotia Bhagwandas village of Sadar police station area. He had gone to the beach pond to take out the duck. Due to being tired there, he could not swim and drowned. Police reached the spot after getting information about the incident. After this the villagers took out the dead body of the youth from the pond.

The deceased was identified as Raju Bhuinya (35), son of Ratan Bhuinya, a resident of Kathotia Bhagwandas village. It is said that Raju Bhuyan had entered the pond located in front of the house to take out the ducks. Meanwhile, he went to the middle of the pond.

According to eyewitnesses, Raju went to the middle of the pond while swimming from one end of the pond. After that he got tired and could not swim. Because of this he drowned in the water. After this the villagers informed the Sadar police station. Police handed over the body to the relatives after postmortem at Sadar Hospital.
