PLFI militant arrested in Gumla: Area commander of PLFI, who escaped from the clutches of police in several encounters, recovered a bullet including a country-made revolver

Police have arrested PLFI Area Commander Johan Topno alias John Topno, who escaped from several encounters with a weapon. Johan Topno had escaped in several encounters with the police. He had created terror in four districts. The police was looking for it for a long time. However, in this police action, two more militants present with Johan Topno managed to escape. SP Dr Ehtesham Waqarib gave this information on Sunday.

SP Dr Ehtesham Waqarib said that the arrested John Topno had come to activate the dormant organization in areas like Kamdra, Basia, Kursa, Rania, Khunti and Torpa on the instructions of PLFI supremo Dinesh Gope. Fourteen cases including murder, robbery, extortion, Arms Act have been registered against Johan in Chaibasa, Khunti, Simdega and Gumla districts.

The SP said that on August 21, the police received a tip-off that Area Commander Johan Topno was busy with his squad in Turudu village of Kamdara police station area to carry out a major incident. After verification of this information, a team was formed under the leadership of Vikas Anand Laguri, SDPO of Basia on his instructions.

During the raid, the police team saw three suspects standing near Dahu Toli More. On seeing the police, they started running. Then the police chased and arrested one. While two people escaped. When asked about the person arrested, he gave his name as Johan Topno. On being searched, a loaded country-made revolver, a bullet, a mobile phone and a bike hidden near the bush were recovered from him. The police is busy in arresting the names of the two fleeing militants by keeping them secret.

PLFI Area Commander Johan Topno had joined the organization in 2018. A few days later, he was caught by the police. At that time, the police had arrested him for the first time from Garai Tangratoli village of Rania police station area with a country-made pistol and three live cartridges. After this he came out after being in jail for a few days. Then by carrying out the sudden incidents, the panic of his name was established among the people.
