As per the instructions of Superintendent of Police Mr. Chandan Kumar Jha in the meeting room of Superintendent of Police Office of National Tobacco Control Program today, on 25.11.2021, under the chairmanship of Deputy Superintendent of Police, Headquarters Mr. Mukesh Kumar, one officer each under the OP and all the police stations of the district was awarded COTPA-2003. An orientation and training program was organized by nominating the nodal officer. During the program, first of all, Shri Rajiv Kumar State Advisor, NTCP was given information about the tobacco control program and various sections of the COTPA-2003 Act. During the orientation, everyone was told that Section-4 and Section-6A, and B0 of COTPA-2003 were told.


At least once every week, for compliance with various sections of COTPA, we will definitely go out for raids-

Deputy Superintendent of Police Headquarters Shri Mukesh Kumar told that all the participants present in today's training are designated as Nodal Officers of COTPA-2003 at the police station level and at least once every week for raids for compliance of various sections of COTPA. Will definitely come out so that compliance of COTPA can be ensured in the Bokaro district.

During the training, all the participants were given information about checking all the shopkeepers coming within 100 yards of the school during the raids and under which streams they can be challenged.


Section 7 prohibits the sale of cigarettes and other tobacco products without specific health warnings.

During the training, the District Counselor Mohd Aslam has banned smoking in all public places under Section-4 of the COTPA Act-2003, in such a way that if anyone violates it, the guilty person can be fined up to Rs.200. Under Section 5, there is a ban on the advertisement of cigarettes and other tobacco products, the guilty person can be imprisoned for 2-5 years or a fine of 1000-5000 rupees or both. Under Section 6, there is a ban on the purchase and sale of tobacco by minors and minors within 100 yards of all educational institutions, the guilty person can be fined up to Rs 200.


Under section 7 there is a ban on the sale of cigarettes and other tobacco products without specific health warnings, the guilty manufacturer can be imprisoned for 2-5 years or a fine of 5000-10000 rupees or both and the guilty seller can be punished for 1-2 years. imprisonment of Rs.1000-3000 or with both.


During the training, all the police stations were directed to conduct raids in compliance with Section 6/B of COPTA-2003 by running a campaign from tomorrow on all the shops around the school.
