Celebrations in Parliament, President Kovind, PM Modi to address the gathering at Constitution Day
As part of the Constitution Day celebrations on Friday, President Ram Nath Kovind will lead the ceremony with the preamble reading out in the Central Hall of Parliament, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a distinguished gathering.
President Kovind will address the nation in a speech, after which people will join him in a reading session of the Preamble of the Constitution.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), President Kovind will then release a digital version of the Constituent Assembly debate in the Central Hall of Parliament House. The document is an online version of a calligraphic copy of the constitution as well as an updated version of the document setting out the framework of the country's fundamental political code, which will include all amendments to date.
PM Modi will also inaugurate the two-day Constitution Day celebrations at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi and participate in related programs.
According to an official release issued by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will also address the program organized in Parliament.
The Union Government is celebrating Constitution Day as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav – marking 75 years since the country got independence from British colonial rule.
PM Modi will officially inaugurate the Constitution Day celebrations organized by the Supreme Court at 5:30 pm at the Plenary Hall of Vigyan Bhawan. All judges of the Supreme Court, Chief Justices and senior-most judges of all High Courts, the Solicitor-General of India, and other members of the legal fraternity will also be present on the occasion.
In order to give due recognition to the importance of this historical data, the celebration of Constitution Day on 26 November was started in 2015. The nation is also celebrating Constitution Day this year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India by the Constituent Assembly in 1949.
According to the ANI news agency, the roots of this festival can be traced back to the "Samvidhan Gaurav Yatra" organized in 2010 by PM Modi, who was then the Chief Minister of Gujarat.
The Constitution of India, the longest written constitution of any country, is considered the supreme law of the nation and demarcates the structure, structure, powers, and duties of government institutions, and sets out the fundamental rights, directive principles, and duties of citizens.
