ICMAI CMA students demand the release of admit cards, file petitions challenging new patterns, mode of examination

The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of India (ICMAI) will conduct the CMA Intermediate and Final exam from December 8 to December 15. This time, the sessions for June 2021 and December 2021 have been combined and will be conducted simultaneously in online mode. The admit cards are yet to be released and ICMAI CMA candidates have been demanding the release of admit cards on social media platforms.

The candidates are demanding the admit card out of fear that they may be allotted an examination center far away from their place of residence. Students claim that some may have to travel to another city so it is better to prepare in advance.

Not just the admit card, students are also demanding to conduct or postpone the exam in offline mode. A petition has also been filed in the Supreme Court challenging the new exam pattern and online mode of the exam as reported by Live Law. The petitioners claimed that the exam pattern has been changed thrice in the last three months and the latest exam pattern is not as per the study material provided by the institute.

It also said that the new exam pattern requires candidates to write more answers for which they are not prepared. Considering the examination will be in pen and paper mode, the duration of the examination which has been fixed for three hours is not sufficient to complete the paper, the petition said. The petition has been filed through advocates Arup Banerjee, Alok Singh, Ankit Borkar, and Vinay Ahrodia.
