India launches e-Amrit portal at COP26 for all things EV. Know the details

The portal is developed and hosted by NITI Aayog as part of a collaborative knowledge exchange program with the UK government and as part of the UK-India Joint Roadmap 2030.

India on Wednesday launched the 'e-Nectar' web portal on Electric Vehicles (EVs) at the ongoing COP26 summit in Glasgow. A government statement said the website is a one-stop destination for all information regarding electric vehicles. Which all people will get benefit from this.

The e-Amrit portal contains information related to their purchase, investment opportunities, policies, subsidies, etc., along with misconceptions regarding the adoption of electric vehicles.

The portal is developed and hosted by NITI Aayog under a collaborative knowledge exchange program with the UK Government and as part of the UK-India Joint Roadmap 2030. The roadmap was signed by the Prime Ministers of both countries.

The NITI Aayog said that the e-Amrit portal complements the government's initiative to raise awareness about electric vehicles and make consumers aware of the benefits of switching to electric mobility.

In recent times, India has taken several initiatives to accelerate the decarbonization of transport and the adoption of electric mobility in the country. Schemes like FAME and PLI are particularly important in creating an ecosystem for the early adoption of EVs.

NITI Aayog intends to add more features and introduce innovative tools to make the portal more interactive and user-friendly.

The launch was attended by UK's High-Level Climate Action Champion Nigel Topping and NITI Aayog Advisor Sudhendu Jyoti Sinha.

 This new innovation will be very effective in these eras of electric mobility.
