AKB NEWS: Bokaro: A strategy has been prepared by the management for solid waste management in the Bokaro Steel City area. A waste disposal plant is being set up for this. The final decision will be taken on the proposal of big companies coming in Bokaro Steel Plant Management. 13 big companies working in different cities have expressed their desire regarding the proposal sought by the management. 

BSL Management is studying the technology as well as other suggested aspects of all these companies. Presently the waste of Bokaro Steel is dumped in Sector 11. Due to the lack of a proper disposal system, the garbage is being filled slowly here. Keeping in view the future problem, the management has identified 17 acres of land. According to the Solid Waste Management Rules 2016 of the Government of the Ministry of Forest and Environment, Bokaro Steel has to dispose of municipal waste.

According to sources, the company that set up the plant will also operate it. The solid waste generated here can be divided into different parts and used. If this plant is installed then Jharkhand will be the biggest plant in any city.

The city generates 100 tonnes of garbage every month:

Bokaro Steel City generates around 100 tonnes of waste every month. This includes wet, dry, and solid waste. According to the proposal of the company, the work of making organic fertilizers, chemicals for road construction, other materials for road construction work can also be done from the waste. There are about 36 thousand houses and more than eight thousand commercial plots in the area of ​​Bokaro Steel. The population of the city is between two to three lakhs. Chas Municipal Corporation also-ran.

Bokaro: Efforts have also been intensified by the Chas Municipal Corporation, which is facing the problem of waste disposal. It is likely that in the month of January, a plant for solid waste management will be set up on the proposed land. Additional Municipal Commissioner Anil Kumar Singh said that due to the lack of land in Chas, there is a problem in the disposal of garbage. Work on this will start soon. Whatever problem there is regarding the land will be resolved.
