AKB News: Saurabh Chandra, DFO of Hazaribagh Eastern Forest Division inspected Jarkunda in Chatrochatti forest area of Gomia block under Bokaro district. In this sequence, he said that there is immense potential for tourism in the Konar Dam area. To promote tourism, a link path was constructed with the restoration of the guest house at a cost of Rs.15 lakh. He said that the guest house is very high. From here the beauty of the dam is made on sight. He also got information about exotic birds enjoying voting in Konar Dam.

DFO Mr. Chandra said that the forest department has a lot of space around the guest house. There was talk of building a park here so that tourists coming from far and wide could get the means of entertainment. Along with this, local people will also get employment opportunities. Along with this, the work of silver culture is going on in full swing for the conservation and protection of forests in the Chatrochatti forest area, due to which more emphasis will be given on the development of Sakhuva and Kendu plants.

Apart from the movement of wild elephants in the area and surrounding areas, he asked the officers and employees of the Forest Department to pay serious attention to the arrival of exotic birds in the dam area. Said that a large herd of wild elephants has been divided into many pieces at present, due to which many incidents have increased. Efforts are being made to stop the elephants in the forest area itself.

Due to deforestation of the forest area, elephants have started leaving the forest. Herds of elephants are also moving towards villages due to a lack of sufficient food. He also appealed to the people to cooperate with the Forest Department in saving the forest. Said that under the watershed scheme, emphasis should be given on works like ponds, dobha, etc., so that emphasis can be given on development plans in rural areas.

DFO Mr. Chandra said that the precious wood kept near the Forest Office was auctioned, due to which the government got revenue of one lakh 76 thousand rupees. On this occasion ACF Abhay Kumar Singh, Forest Area Officer Suresh Ram, Forester Govardhan, Anil Kumar, Dileep, Rukhsana, Sarita Kumari, Forest Guard Raza Ahmed, Vinod Ganjhu, Ravi Kumar, Vikas Kumar, and others were present.
