Jharkhand Tribal Advisory Council: Finally, TAC was formed without the approval of Governor, Chief Minister, ex-officio president
Eventually, without the governor's approval, the Jharkhand Tribal Advisory Council (TAC) was formed under the new rules. Chief Minister Hemant Soren has been made the ex-officio President and Welfare Minister Champai Soren has been made the ex-officio Vice President. 15 MLAs have been made members in the 19-member council. These include 7 MLAs of JMM, 5 MLAs of Congress and 3 MLAs of BJP.
At the same time, two people coming from the tribal class have been made nominated members. The special invitee member has not been nominated yet.
The Welfare Department issued a notification in this regard on Tuesday. It is noteworthy that after the formation of the state, according to the rules of Bihar, the right to constitute TAC was with the Governor. The TAC formation file was sent twice by the state government to the Raj Bhavan, but was returned both times. The second time Raj Bhavan returned the file saying that the character certificates of the nominated members and invited members should be taken from the agency concerned.
After this, after taking the opinion of the Advocate General, the government decided to make new rules. In the new system, the Chief Minister has been given the right to nominate TAC members.
